Family Advocate, Head Start
East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full time/full year Family Advocate for our Head Start Program at 8 John Chafee Boulevard in Newport, RI. EBCAP believes all families share the same aspirations for their children and will work collaboratively with the Head Start team to contribute to their children’s learning and developing experience.
EBCAP is committed to the safety of our employees and clients during this COVID-19 medical crisis. We are currently conducting our interviews remotely. Our new hires are attending orientation and program specific orientations remotely. Many of our employees can and will continue to work remotely during this crisis.
Family Advocate will provide education and case management services to Head Start families in both the family’s home and at the center. During the COVID-19 crisis, services provided by the Family Advocate will be done through telephone and web-based applications to maximize the staff member’s health and safety. successful candidate will utilize a strength-focused philosophy and approach to building self-reliance through the Family Partnership Agreement. ideal candidate will adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, agency goals, as well as personnel policies.
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of community resources, and enjoy working with children and families. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, however, not required.
