• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Community Based Support (CBS) Providers

    We are seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals and Community Based Support Providers to join our growing team assisting adults in our Day Activity Program located in Middletown.

    We provide all of the training and certificates to assist you in your growth as a valued employee

    Responsibilities:

    • The providing of direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities fostering independence through active participation
    • Maintaining and enhancing each client’s right to dignity and respect within the overall context of offering, respecting and supporting choices made within a healthy and safe environment as well as making positive contributions to such an environment
    • Ensuring overall safety and well-being for all clients whom they support
    • The providing of services to persons with developmental disabilities within the context of an environment that is free from any type of abuse, neglect, mistreatment or any other human rights violation
    • Engaging in and promoting quality services for persons with developmental disabilities
    • Supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to access the community
    • Must work closely with the Residential Nurse to support clients with medication administration and other related duties – where applicable – while fostering an atmosphere and environment of healthy physical living
    • Adhering to the agency’s policy and procedures
    • Participation in all required agency training's
    • Ability to lift, bend and transfer – if/when necessary – when supporting clients
    • Providing personal care/hygiene support when necessary
    • Promoting a productive work environment when working and/or interacting with clients and co-workers
    • Performing a variety of tasks in a multi-faceted environment
    • Reasonably anticipated to have exposure to blood/body fluid
    • Maintaining a positive and respectful attitude toward the program’s supervisor as
    • well as toward other members of the resource team by following through on directions given and by communicating effectively
    • Mandatory requirement to participate in all regularly scheduled as well as emergency staff or team Meetings
    • Responsible for participating in and contributing to the overall stewardship of home/program’s and/or each individual’s environment and resources
    • Taking initiative and demonstrating leadership potential
    • Documenting clearly, legibly, objectively and promptly on all required forms, log books and paperwork as required by state regulations as well as agency policy and procedure
    • All other responsibilities judged to be reasonable and fundamental for the necessary supports of an individual with a developmental disability under their care by the Home/Program Manager or Supervisor, the Residential Director or the Executive Director
