    Reporting to Director of Development and working closely with CEO, the Development Officer (DO) will play a key role in all aspects of Resource Development with a focus on developing and cultivating relationships with donors and volunteers. The DO will be responsible for maximizing fundraising and event goals.  This will be done by managing a portfolio of prospects, growing annual fund and event sponsorship opportunities. The DO will play a lead role in marketing and printed materials planning and execution. The DO will have a portfolio of prospects for cultivation, stewardship and solicitation.  The DO will work closely with DOD, Executive Director, Senior management as well as Board members and Board committee members.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher or in related field
    • At least 3 years of fundraising and/or sales management
    • Experience in fundraising from identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
    • Proficient in Microsoft office suite and social media platforms
    • Experience in donor database management and analytics
    • Ability to interact with key donors/prospects/volunteers in a professional manner and to articulate passion for the Club’s mission
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced team environment
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to diplomatically work with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of an organization
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required
    PRIMARY FUNCTION:
    To provide leadership and support to the Development Team to maximize fundraising and event capacity and results. The candidate should have a passion for the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.
     Job description/duties:
    • Develop and execute work plan for special event and corporate fundraising.  This includes: establishing goals, prospect management, event analytics and key performance indicators
    • Lead volunteer management and stewardship
    • Evaluate opportunities to improve donor participation and maximize fundraising capacity and results 
    • Interact and work with board members, volunteers, donors and prospects
    • Plan monthly press releases in coordination with DOD and ED
    • Provide support to the Development team and cooperate with senior team to maximize organizational capacity and success
    • Maintain Donor Perfect database with data entry, coding, analysis, reporting and tracking
    • Responsible for Data integrity in the database and all reporting functions
    • Publish Annual Report and donor recognition wall
    • Coordinate with Program Director in the Youth of the Year annual competition and recognition
    • Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors
    • Prepare all mailing lists and data reporting
    • Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed
    • Maintain guest lists, registration materials and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events
    • Other duties as assigned

    The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County offers a variety of programs for children, teens, adults and
    families. Programs include after school licensed child care, homework help, a teen center, summer
    camp, swimming lessons and aquatics, a fitness center, dance and drama, computers and technology,
    music and music production, and the fine arts.
