    Full Job Description
    Join a dynamic and collaborative team of arts professionals at the Newport Art Museum. As an important member of the Museum’s management team, this individual will be responsible for creating and managing the Museum’s website, as well as all electronic, interactive and social media communications in an effort to promote the Museum’s collection, exhibitions, membership, educational offerings, public programs, community outreach activities, fundraising initiatives, and facility rentals to local, national and international audiences. A distinct “brand” identity and compelling vision will be clearly communicated across all platforms. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits and reporting to the Executive Director.

    Principal Responsibilities:
    Ensure all messaging cohesively communicates and positions the Museum’s mission,
    image and reputation to a diverse range of constituencies including: the media,
    journalists, existing and potential corporate and programmatic partners, trustees, staff, members, visitors, students, and artists.
    As editor of the Museum’s digital communications’ documents, this position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of editorial content in all materials across all platforms.
    As the manager of the Museum’s website, both consumer facing and backend, the ideal candidate will have expert working knowledge of WordPress – knowledge of Zapier plug-in is a plus.
    And as manager of email communications and audience segmentation, the ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable of Mailchimp. Familiarity with Salesforce, SproutSocial, GiveSmart, Bidsquare and Slideroom platforms will also be a plus.
    Using Google Analytics and other tools, track and report on website visits, Instagram activity, email opens and unsubscribes, visitor survey responses, evite RSVPs, etc.
    Ensures all messaging is scheduled appropriately, completed in a timely fashion and fully integrated to facilitate audience and visitor growth in support of the museum’s mission and goals.
    Update and maintain Museum’s photography archive.
    Improve wayfinding and signage throughout Museum’s buildings and across campus.
    Design and order a variety of materials, including banners, ads, gallery wall text, Facebook ads, wayfinding signage, etc.
    Assist Development Department with grant support materials and statistics as needed.
    Assists with copywriting for press releases, marketing materials, advertisements, copy for radio, and other forms of media outreach, as assigned.
    Working with tourism and hospitality partners and developing cross-promotional partnerships and collaborations with key arts and business organizations, the Director of Marketing will help to promote the museum as a cultural destination.

    Skills and Qualifications:
    Proficient at WordPress and Mailchimp.
    Familiarity with Bidsquare and Slideroom platforms is a plus.
    An appreciation for and knowledge of the arts and museums is preferred.
    Leadership and team management is preferred.
    Performs well under pressure.
    Has strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism.
    Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Can work independently and as a member of a team.
    Can multitask and is well organized.
    A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or other related field.
    A valid driver’s license.

    Education and Training:
    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.
    Minimum three years’ experience in marketing, communications, publicity, and other related fields is preferred.

    Salary: $65,000 – $,70,000 (annual salary)
