    The HR Generalist will provide administrative, benefits, recruiting and onboarding support to the HR Department. This is a multifaceted position, which will require a motivated individual who works well in an environment dedicated to confidentiality, creating a positive employee experience and maintaining accurate employee records related to benefits and hiring.

    Knowledge, Experience And Skills Required

    • Education: College degree or equivalent experience.
    • Experience : Two (2) to four (4) years working with benefits, HR administration, recruiting/onboarding
    • Skills: Effective communication skills, oral & written. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Should be very detail oriented. Ability to effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations. Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines. Maintain accurate records/confidentiality to sensitive information; Ability to be efficient while providing an exemplary experience for employees
    • Systems: Microsoft Office Suite, experience working with ADP Workforcenow highly preferred (HRIS system), experience working with an applicant tracking software system preferred.
       
    Training Required

    Participate in additional training on sales, technology, products, procedures and pricing on an ongoing basis. Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.

    Responsibilities

     
    • Answers employee calls and walk-ins in a responsive and professional manner.
    • Processes benefit applications, new hires, changes, and transfers.
    • Assesses and determines eligibility of applicants; assigns effective dates for benefits; communicates status of changes with employees.
    • Reviews employee status changes affecting benefit eligibility or file maintenance; such as termination of employment, reduction in hours
    • Provides guidance to employees on benefit selections and provider networks
    • Serves as a liaison benefit providers and employees (medical/dental insurance providers, life/LTD/STD providers, flexible spending administrator, and other applicable entities).
    • Collaborates with payroll and other departments to ensure that billing and payroll deductions are accurate.
    • Understands and applies benefit laws such as COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and other related benefit regulations/laws.
    • Updating benefit providers with all COBRA elections and terminations
    • Reviewing and assisting HR department heads with designing a comprehensive benefit package to meet the needs of a changing workforce.
    • Assists in setting up or revising benefits plans in the HR software program.
    • Creates and processes various reports on a frequent basis; identifies employee missing deductions, and takes appropriate action as needed.
    • Manages employee benefit files by ensuring files are updated, in order, accurate and properly documented.
    • Managing the timesheet system including manager training, new hire training and reviewing time off balances.
    • Submits, reviews, documents all workers compensation claims and provides required follow up between carrier and employee.
    • Assist with staffing responsibilities including creating job descriptions, posting job openings, screening applicants for assigned positions, scheduling interviews, attending career fairs, applicant tracking, performing background checks/references and ensuring all proper information is recorded and tracked
    • Ensure compliance with EEO, ADA, and other regulatory requirements as they apply to applicants
    • Coordinate and process new hire paperwork, and follow up with new hires during the onboarding process on a regular basis to receive required documentation and information in a timely manner
    • Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed and employee files are maintained accurately
    • Performs administrative duties and other duties as assigned
    • Maintains strict confidentiality of departmental issues and documentation.

    Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on corporate policies, procedures, and developments.
