Our expansive grounds offer 360-degree water views, providing an ideal setting for our fine restaurant overlooking Newport Harbor, lounge with wraparound deck, full-service spa, and outdoor saltwater pool.


    The Wedding Specialist and Events Manager is primarily responsible for planning and executing previously contracted social events including wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners and post wedding brunches. The position will also include sales of smaller social and corporate events not accompanying wedding receptions booked on property.


    · Works directly with clients & wedding planners to gather necessary information for menu planning, floor plan, room set up, timelines, rental orders, décor, cost and billing details and any other requirements pertinent to their event in a timely manner and assist with those items as necessary

    · Creates Banquet Event Orders for distribution, leads BEO discussion for assigned events.

    · Responsible for follow-up circulation and timely communication with proper departments

    · Reviews and approves related banquet checks

    · Responsible for the final BEO calculations and final payment

    · Assumes responsibilities for wedding receptions and related events occurring at the property sold by the Catering Sales Team including:

    • Detailing, planning and execution of wedding receptions and social catering events. ,
    • Assisting customers in all aspects of program planning stages, creating/revising of BEO's and resumes to disseminate detailed specifications to staff and associated vendors, supervising functions and following-up with all concerned Work Performed

    · Keep up with trends in the hospitality Industry to enhance the efforts for Sales and Banquets

    · Maintain room sets and capabilities

    · Know of all aspects of Resort, including guestrooms, services and outlets

    · Understand local dining, activity and transportation options

    · Contact groups within 48 hours of contracts assigned

    · Follow through to completion of function(s) including post program needs

    · Performs location site visits prior to event to review sales staff and client's vision for the event; Collaborate with Catering Sales Manager contracting events

    · Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for all groups

    · Establish and maintain good working relationships with outside vendors and contacts

    · Assures arrangements are completed as specified

    · Conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertain clients as necessary in accordance with the company and property policies

    · Read, analyze and interpret general business documents related to events

    · Effectively communicate guest needs and respond to questions from managers and associates relating to clients and events

    · Communication with internal and external customers, confirming all requirements in writing to the customer and all affected resort departments

    · Maintain a sales mentality and an interest in getting involved with local community/organizations to sell available function space to maximize revenues

    · Maintain proficiency with Delphi Software used in Events and Sales

    · Assist with local catering sales, development of new business and maintenance of current local business

    · Work closely with all departments to ensure guest service levels are being met or exceeded

    · Deal effectively with internal and external customers with regular communication

    · Remain professional in all aspects of the job including written communication.

    · May be required to complete additional tasks as necessary

    · Participates in staff meetings; attends classes to expand product knowledge and sales efficiencies

    · Sales of smaller social catering events including Wedding Rehearsal Dinners, Post-wedding brunches, corporate catering meetings and events booked per catering booking policy may be required

    · Effectively sell public space, food, beverage and services of the resort to maximize revenues and profitability for the Resort

    · Ability to work weekends a requirement.


    • 2 Years or more of progressive hotel management experience
    • 2 Years Previous Wedding Sales experience required
    • Experience with Opera and Delphi preferred
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong customer service orientation and skills
    • Must be self-motivated and results oriented
