    Lead Systems Engineer

    We are searching for an experienced Lead Systems Engineer at our Newport, RI location.

    SEACORP is a veteran-founded business based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the U.S. Navy for over 40 years. Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.     Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    SEACORP is seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee the creation of simulation software requirements, design, and development within a defined hardware/network configuration with associated constraints. Duties include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient, high performance solution including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
    Successful candidates must have strong engineering, software architecture and software simulation modeling skillset to be applied to simulation system product development used for Naval training purposes. Engineering initiatives require the ability to read and write requirements specifications and to break down high level requirements/tasks/problems into detailed requirements. Specification includes mathematical modelling, software processing and associated timing, interfaces to objects, processes and subsystems and relationships to other components.
    Candidate should possess the practical ability to approximate complex systems/processes/behaviors in order to develop models of sufficient fidelity to meet requirements mindful of resource utilization. A balanced approach towards mathematical modelling and computational requirements is essential.
    Candidate must have organizational skills and communications skills to work in a team environment towards project goals which include multiple product deliveries/schedules. Candidate should have the ability to tailor communications to an audience ranging from high level management, senior engineers, and junior programmers.

    Education: A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
    Experience: 7+ years of related experience is required. Experience with object-oriented design and development is essential and C++ capability is highly preferred. Experience with inter-object/process/network node communication mechanisms and network design is required.
    Clearance Required: Secret
