    Library/Media Teacher (.5) @ Rogers High School

    GENERAL DUTIES - To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the library so that positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

    REPORTS TO - Principal and/or designee, Rogers High School

    QUALIFICATIONS - 1.Hold a valid Rhode Island Certification as a Library Media Teacher, Grades Pre K-12;Ability to maintain computerized records as required. Ability to efficiently use computerized software to include word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail, and Internet, etc. and student information systems. Possession of excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate well with administrators, staff, parents, teachers, and students. Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, previous experience, and the interview process. Any such alternatives to the above qualifications as the committee may deem acceptable and appropriate if the above qualifications cannot be met.

    RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides operation of the school library media facility for students, staff, administrators, and community members in a patron-friendly environment. 2.Interacts with students on a daily basis. 3.Conducts communication, cataloging, filing, copying, faxing, as well as all other clerical duties needed. 4.Utilizes computer applications software in the performance of daily tasks. 5.Maintains sensitive records and information with complete confidentiality. 6.Prepares reports, letters, notices and other miscellaneous items as assigned by the Principal.7.Contacts families regarding overdue library materials or other account updates as needed.8.Handles office communication, filing, copying, faxing, as well as other clerical duties currently needed at Rogers High School.9.Assists in other office duties as needed.10.Performs all other such clerical duties as the Principal and/or designee may deem appropriate.

    PHYSICAL/MENTALREQUIREMENTS: Walking, stooping, reaching, talking, lifting (10-pound minimum), hearing, standing, kneeling, carrying, fingering/keyboarding, seeing, sitting, and driving.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside, work with and around others, work alone.

    TERMS OFEMPLOYMENT: Part time, Ten-month position.

    Salary and benefits in accordance with Teachers Association contract.
