    Full Job Description

Bloom is a childcare center/preschool located in Middletown, RI. We serve 47 children per day, ages ranging from 18 months to 5 years old. We are a nature inspired program that follows the LifeWays approach to childcare. Much time is spent outdoors on our large, grassy, tree filled play yards.

We serve the children organic snacks, and sometimes even fresh vegetables from our own garden beds. We have a wonderful faculty (many of whom have been with us many years) comprised of eight teachers (two in each classroom), one full-time Assistant Administrator/Sub/Mentor, and (presently) one Administrator/Ed Coordinator who would like to divide the role with the right person! The Ed Coordinator/Co-Administrator will not be responsible for teaching their own class. We are seeking a full-time Education Coordinator/Co-Administrator to oversee our curriculum, to support our teachers throughout their day to day teaching, as well as to support them with their Individual Professional Development Plans (IPDP).

This individual will be responsible for keeping Bloom in alignment with the RI Regulations for Licensure (DHS) and the Bloom Handbook. There will be some administrative tasks involved, as well as working with parents to make their experience at Bloom everything they hoped it to be!Bloom is open year round. We are closed three weeks a year for vacation (in March/April, July and December) for which all faculty are paid, plus all National Holidays. Additionally, faculty is also allotted ten sick/personal/vacation days annually.

We also provide disability insurance, a health insurance stipend ($300/mo pre tax) and a retirement plan with 3% match (after one year of employment). We are looking for someone ready to settle into a long term position. Someone who is comfortable learning about how we like to run things at Bloom, and someone who will bring their own experience and positive energy to the mix. It is a non-traditional, play based, child led program, so for some this may be different from what you are used to. That is okay, as long as the environment speaks to you and you seek to integrate rather than reinvent.
