    Job Title: Assistant Director of Athletics Classification: Faculty, 12-month position

    Department: Athletics Reports to: Athletic Director

    Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Athletics will support the Athletic Director in all aspects of the daily running of the athletic department office, facilities, and program. A member of the prestigious Independent School League and New England Prep School Athletic Conference, St. George's welcomes candidates who embrace the league’s ideals of “integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership” and those who embody the philosophy that athletics routinely serves as an extension of the traditional educational experience in the classroom.

    Major Responsibilities:

    ● Manage all aspects of rink, pool and other athletic facility rentals, including all summer rentals, working closely with the school’s operations departments

    ● Maintain all afternoon activity registration for students

    ● Manage all game day duties: i.e., home games: setting up fields/courts/team rooms, greeting visiting teams, officials

    ● Roster preparation and distribution to venues + ISL

    ● Event liaison with Development, college counseling and operations

    ● Serve as the day to day liaison between the athletic department and operations, grounds and development departments.

    ● Coordinate within the parameters of the St. George’s calendar to mitigate and avoid conflicts with aspects of the broader St. George’s program (arts, academics, community life, etc.)

    ● Coordinate the Howard Invitational Hockey Tournament, confirm the teams participating, set and collect fees and build a schedule, coordinate officials, etc.

    ● Coordinate HUDL Focus Livestream, including generating links, embedding them on the website, and communicating the details to the school community.

    ● Coordinate with all coaches that use a HUDL team account to get accurate schedules and rosters uploaded; provide in-season coach support.

    ● Organize the photographing of teams by sport each season and provide billing information to the finance office.

    ● Work with the Director of Communications for scheduling and obtaining athletic team photos for the website.

    ● Assist all members of the department with gameday duties (i.e., set-up fields, courts, team rooms) as well as serve as a site supervisor on occasional gamedays.

    ● Assist with three seasonal athletics award ceremonies, including preparing certificates and awards, and assist with all coaches' meetings.

    ● Meet with the athletic office team regularly to collaborate on and debrief daily operations.

    ● Assist the Director of Athletics with other duties as assigned.

    Additional responsibilities:

    ● Coach two seasons of interscholastic athletics.

    ● Assume faculty responsibilities, including advising and residential life.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    ● Excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.

    ● Significant athletic experience, including demonstrated strength as a player and/or coach at the collegiate level.

    ● Commitment to diversity and to cultivating an inclusive and equitable school culture.

    ● A dedication to teach, lead and motivate student-athletes and a commitment to stay current in the field of athletics, representing best practices in all aspects of the work.

    ● A sense of humor, warmth, and a willingness to bring joy to the work.

    ● Bachelor’s degree.
