    East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a GED Instructor for full-time, full-year work based in Newport as a member of our adult education program: Education & Career Pathways. Separate classes for ABE and ASE levels will run mornings, Mon-Fri. All classes are a hybrid of face-to-face and online learning; demonstrated experience with online learning is valuable.
    The instructor will plan and deliver lessons that offer meaningful context for adult learners. In addition, they will conduct intake, orientation, and assessment of adult learners, write new curricula as needed, provide coaching to volunteer tutors, and maintain records for each student. They will assist with learner goal setting and assess progress using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including CASAS. The instructor will collaborate with the Education and Career Pathways team and EBCAP case managers to ensure learners’ individual wellbeing and success.
    This GED Instructor position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. The ideal candidate has at least two years of Adult Education experience and has worked with learners online.
    EBCAP is committed to the safety of our employees and clients during this COVID-19 medical crisis. We are currently conducting our interviews remotely. Our new hires are attending orientation and program specific orientations remotely with gradual re-entry to the worksite. COVID vaccinations are available to new hires if not already vaccinated.
