Visitor Services Positions
The Newport Restoration Foundation seeks seasonal, part-time (3-4 days per week) frontline staff for the 2021 season (March-November). Open positions include tour guides and front desk staff for both Rough Point and Whitehorne Museums. Frontline staff are integral members of the Education and Public Programs team and ambassadors for the NRF. They are each responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and engaging experiences for diverse audiences by developing a thorough working knowledge of the collections, stories, and themes relevant to each NRF site. Tour guides will learn to lead guided tours of each property, help facilitate self-guided tours, and assist with special programs and events. Front desk staff are responsible for admission and merchandise sales, coordinating with other frontline staff, and other administrative tasks.
Successful candidates will be friendly, adaptable, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have a passion for making history accessible for all. Flexible schedule, but must participate in all training and be available 3 days per week plus one weekend day. Season from late March to November.
Hourly rate and 401(k) contribution.
