Provide administrative support to the Science and Technology Library at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport RI. Entering bibliographic data into an on-line database. Cataloging and indexing bibliographic data. Review and edit office documentation. Scanning documents, saving to PDF file and uploading. Interact closely with a staff of librarians, engineers, analysts, and information managers to gather bibliographic data as needed. Assisting Library customers in obtaining access to the bibliographic database, and performing customer support to resolve user challenges. Compile training material, SOPs, and outreach material for government review. Supporting annual inventory of customer’s classified material holdings.
Provide administrative support to the Science and Technology Library at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport RI. Duties may include any or all of the following:
Accuracy and strong attention to detail is highly desired. Effective at prioritizing and multi-tasking. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to work well with others. Ability to self-manage, display initiative, and meet defined work objectives and time-lines. Strong customer service skills. Solid problem-solving orientation. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team and service-oriented environment. Self-motivated with good analytical and communication skills, oral and written.
Advanced/Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is highly desired. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented, innovative, and proactive.
Education and Certification:
Minimum requirements are a High School Diploma or GED
Additional formal education, such as a relevant Associated Degree or Certificate Program is preferred
