    Job Description
    Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years professional experience in bookkeeping required.  Experience with QuickBooks required and Chamber Master preferred.
    Reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the bookkeeping, budget development and reporting, and interaction with accountant for monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation for Chamber of Commerce financials.  Additionally, will assist in the developing annual operating budget and collection of documentation for tax purposes.  Additional support will be provided for the Newport County Development Council funds management and bookkeeping requirements.
    Weekly allocation of checks and payments, recording deposits to QB to maintain bank balance
    Weekly creation and maintenance of member billing cycles (new and retained, including ACH, reminder of sponsorship, confirmation of involvement in groups, etc)
    Weekly payroll processing, creation of QB journal entries
    Monthly issuing of invoices and ACH payment allocation
    Monthly write offs of balances owed, dropped members
    Monthly reconciliation of banks statements, gift certificate program, and creation of financial reports
    Monthly initialization of gift certificate stock with new orders placed as needed
    Quarterly meeting with KLR for reconciliation
    Annual creation and editing of annual budget
    Annual coordination of tax materials for KLR
    College degree or appropriate experience in Finance and/or Bookkeeping.  Strong organizational skills and ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously.  Strong communications skills. Works independently in a fast paced environment.  Familiarity with membership organizations and/or non-profits highly valued.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks required and experience with Chamber Master preferred.
    This is a part-time 10 hr. /week contracted position, based on $25-30 per hour.  In office and remote work opportunities are available.
