    Full Job Description

    BASIC PURPOSE:

    The Accounting Clerk is responsible for completing accounting projects for the hotel as directed by the Assistant Controller.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Constantly. Maintain work area neat and organized.

    Constantly. Review and analyze all adjustments and postings processed into the computer.

    Constantly. Verify payments, check for proper application and that deposits are made on a daily basis.

    Frequently. Maintain and audit house banks as outlined in the Internal Audit.

    Frequently. Handle credit card chargebacks in a timely manner.

    Frequently. Make credit checks and obtain approvals to grant credit for direct billing and provide responsive collection efforts for all accounts.

    Frequently. Monitor aging for credits, deposits, overpayments, high balance accounts, and delinquent accounts.

    Frequently. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Occasionally. Attend all mandatory meetings.

    Occasionally. Run various reports for distribution to departments.

    Assist fellow employees as needed

    May be required to perform additional departmental duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    · Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

    · Experience: Prior Accounting experience helpful

    · Computer literate

    · Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.

    · Ability to clearly communicate in English

    · Ability to multitask

    · Time management skills

    Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of computerized accounting system. , an aptitude for detail and accurate accounting procedures. Figure aptitude a must. General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
