Do you know ALVA? We have decided to remember Alva Vanderbilt Belmont by naming The ALVA Experience in honor of her legacy.
As a major figure in the American women's suffrage movement, Alva was noted for her energy, strong opinions, and willingness to challenge convention. We hope to attract women to this event with these very qualities -as both speakers and guests alike.
The ALVA Experience will highlight her many impactful accomplishments by connecting her strengths and talents to today’s powerful women. We believe by naming this event after Alva, it will reflect its uniqueness as well as its mixing of the old and new -much like Newport itself. The importance of acknowledging women’s history will always be crucial to progress for women -professionally and personally. We think Alva perfectly suits this image -and cannot wait to welcome more women just like her this October.
