    Small-Business Laptop Program

    Small-Business Laptop Program: Thanks to a generous donation from the Microsoft Corporation, RI Commerce in partnership with Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG), will be donating 500 laptops to Rhode Island small businesses. The devices will be allocated to those that best fit the application criteria.
     
    Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

    • Small businesses with 25 or fewer employees 
    • A demonstrated need that the devices will promote the following activity:
      • Improvements to business operations and revenue. E.g. the devices will generate a new channel of revenue through online sales, scheduling, or other service delivery; promote new and more efficient internal-support operations; or allow businesses to operate remotely
      • Promote additional opportunities for employees to work remotely/virtually. E.g. the devices will increase the number of employees who are able to work remotely.
    • Preference given to businesses located in an Opportunity Zone and/or those that are Owned/Led by People of Color, Women, Veterans or Low to Moderate Income Individuals. 
    Eligible businesses can apply for up to five laptop computers (with most successful applicants receiving one). Applying businesses are encouraged to contact the RI Commerce Tech Support Services [linkprotect.cudasvc.com]to learn how to support their digital transformation and consider ways in which laptops may unlock new capabilities of their businesses. Applications are due on May 26, 2020 and are available at https://www.tfaforms.com/4824182.
