    Newport, RI - The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce will host the 2022 Excellence in Business Awards, sponsored by Carey, Richmond & Viking Insurance on Tuesday, July 19th at Hotel Viking. At this breakfast event, Governor Dan McKee will present official citations to the winners. These awards are given annually to honor outstanding business achievement in Greater Newport and are designed to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and recognize the vital role they play in the economic well-being of the community.
    “It is always a pleasure to be able to honor some local businesses each year for their accomplishments and impact on the local community. We look forward to hearing more about these amazing businesses at this year’s event and to help spread the word about their impact on the Greater Newport Region,” says Erin Donovan-Boyle, Executive Director of the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce.
    Nominations of any Chamber Member of at least one year were accepted from the community and the applications were reviewed by a judging committee comprised of volunteers from the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Ambassador Committee. The categories for this year’s Excellence in Business Awards are: Micro, Small, Big, Woman or Minority-Owned, and Nonprofit.
    The Chamber is excited to announce the Excellence in Business winners for 2022:
    Big Business Winner: People’s Credit Union
    Small Business Winner: The Clean Earth Project
    Micro Business Winner: Tightline Consulting
    Woman or Minority-Owned: Tiverton Farmer’s Market
    Nonprofit Winner: Newport Film
    The 2022 nominees also included: Bellevue Nutrition, Blue Venture Forum, Charter Books, Diego’s Restaurant Group, East Bay Community Action Program, Farmaesthetics, Hummingbird Café, Jamestown Arts Center, Jane Pickens Theater, John Clarke Senior Living, Luke Renchan Entertainment, Maritime Solutions, Newport Mental Health, Newport Out, Ohanga, Preservation Society of Newport County, Teri Degnan Real Estate, Turning Around Ministries, and Safe Harbor.
