    In recognition of Mental Health Awareness month, AARP Rhode Island is collaborating with BH Link, a behavioral health triage facility located in East Providence, Rhode Island to bring you this forum to understand the importance of demystifying mental and behavioral health. Having open conversations can help not only end the stigma, but also lead to people leading healthier lives with mental health issues. A brief clinical overview will be provided on important signs to look for those in crisis and resources and services available.

    AARP RI Legislative Update

    Throughout the current session of the General Assembly, the AARP Rhode Island State Office has worked with community partners and legislators to introduce or support legislation critical to 50+ Rhode Islanders. Included is legislation to reduce the cost of prescription drugs, property tax relief and bills supporting nursing homes as well as caregivers. Join AARP Rhode Island for a free legislative update as they speak to state legislators on their progress and find out if you are needed for a last-minute push to win passage. Featured guests include: Senate President Dominick Ruggerio; Representative Joseph M. McNamara – Chairman, House Education Committee; Maureen Maigret – Co-Chair - Long Term Care Coordinating Council; and John Marion – Executive Director – Common Cause RI.
