The Newport County Chamber of Commerce has been invited by Senator Whitehouse to represent the RI business community at a Senate Steering Committee in Washington on March 14th. The Committee is specifically looking for input on what issues are most important to business and more importantly, what should or could they be working on to help grow the economy, create jobs and foster innovation. Chamber Executive Director Jody Sullivan welcomes local businesses to forward their comments to the Chamber.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for our business community and for the Newport County Chamber”, said Sullivan. “I would like to bring with me input and suggestions directly from stakeholders and businesses of varying size and representing various industries. We need to leverage this invitation and let Washington hear directly from the business community what can be done to improve the overall business environment. I look forward to hearing from businesses and carrying our collective input to Washington.”
Businesses wishing to offer their suggestions can email governmentaffairs@newportchamber.com or call 401.847.1608.
