The Newport County Chamber of Commerce is the second largest Chamber in Rhode Island with close to 1200 members. We continue to grow within and outside of Newport County. Under the leadership of Jody Sullivan, our executive director, we have an excellent staff in place that is focused on issues of importance to our members, including in the areas of marine trades, the defense industry, tourism and hospitality, and education and nonprofits. On behalf of the board of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce, I want to reiterate our commitment to providing our members with the resources you need to be successful in your business endeavors.
Recently, under the Newport County Development Council, our 501 c3, we applied for and received a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation to create a strategic plan to focus our efforts in the area of economic development for the entire region. This initiative is just getting underway and we will keep you updated on our progress.
